For the 4th of July we were lucky enough to have some of Shaun's family come out and spend the holiday with us. We had so much fun while they were here visiting, and we were able to do a lot together. Shaun and I got to go out to dinner at Tucanos with his mom Nita, to celebrate my birthday, which is still a week away but we had received a free meal postcard in the mail for my birthday and we thought it would be fun to take her there since we love it so much and she has never been.
The next morning on the 4th we woke up early to catch the balloon festival. When my family used to live in Utah it was always a tradition to wake up and go watch the air balloons get blown up and rise. It has been many years since I have been so I thought it would be fun going with them because none of them have ever been. We had a blast despite all of us being tired and we saw a lot of awesome balloons rise up.
After watching all the balloons rise up we got to watch the parade in Provo, another past memory of mine that I enjoyed. I forgot how long the parade was, but the kids seemed to enjoy it and we walked always with T-shirts, candy, stickers, and pencils.
After the parade we went home and swam in our pool and had the traditional 4th of July BBQ.
After a long day in the sun we all took naps and woke just in time to leave so we could get a good spot for fireworks. We ventured over to the grassy area in front of the Provo Temple where we had a great view of the fireworks that go off for the Stadium of fire. We enjoyed yummy cotton candy, and fabulous fireworks and it was a wonderful ending to an awesome 4th of July.
