More GREAT News on the Hill Front!!!

I know everyone read that Shaun was going to LDS Business College, and he still is, but not yet. After doing a little more research we realized they didn't have EMT classes which is what Shaun really wants to take classes for right now. So we found a place in Provo that teaches the EMT basic course three days a week from September till December, after which Shaun is certified and can become and EMT. The plan is that he will then take classes at LDS Business College to further his training in the medical field. Shaun started his class this past Monday and he is loving every minute of it. Every night her returns home from class he has new medical gadgets that he gets to play around with and learn to use. So all is good here! I am so happy he is happy, and that is he finding out what he would really like to do. Of course the plans are always changing but at least there is a base.

ACCEPTED TO BYU!!!

So after a lot of waiting and a lot of persistence I FINALLY got ACCEPTED to BYU!!!! I have applied there FOUR times and now all the waiting is over! My plan has always been to go to BYU it just took me jumping over a few hurdles first. I am so grateful for this opportunity because now I can finish school and become a teacher!! Utah is where we want to stay for awhile so its nice to finally settle in and feel like we are here for a reason. I will start school at BYU winter of 2010 as a Junior majoring in Elementary Education and an emphasis on Early Childhood Education.

Making the Memories Last

Check out the start of my little business! Making the Memories Last by Alyssa Hill, is a small business I decided to start. I want to see if it is anything that interest people. I love making movies with pictures and music... basically making a digital scrapbook. I have made quite a few of them so I figured why not see if I can make it into anything bigger. I think there is something amazing about sitting down and relaxing while watching a movie full of memories. If you are interested check out my blog at www.makingthememorieslast.blogspot.com . I am still working on it so bare with me. I have also made a business facebook page where you can view all of my movies. Hope to get some followers!!! Thanks!

WAIT

Wait
Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried:
Quietly, patiently, lovingly God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
And the Master so gently said, 'Child, you must wait'.
'Wait? You say, wait! ' my indignant reply.
'Lord, I need answers, I need to know why!
Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard?
By Faith, I have asked, and am claiming your Word.
My future and all to which I can relate
hangs in the balance, and YOU tell me to WAIT?
I'm needing a 'yes', a go-ahead sign,
or even a 'no' to which I can resign.
And Lord, You promised that if we believe
we need but to ask, and we shall receive.
And Lord, I've been asking, and this is my cry:
I'm weary of asking! I need a reply!
Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate
As my Master replied once again, 'You must wait.'
So, I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut
and grumbled to God, 'So, I'm waiting.... for what?'
He seemed, then, to kneel, and His eyes wept with mine,
And he tenderly said, 'I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens, and darken the sun.
I could raise the dead, and cause mountains to run.
All you seek, I could give, and pleased you would be.
You would have what you want But, you wouldn't know Me.
You'd not know the depth of My love for each saint;
You'd not know the power that I give to the faint;
You'd not learn to see through the clouds of despair;
You'd not learn to trust just by knowing I'm there;
You'd not know the joy of resting in Me
When darkness and silence were all you could see.
You'd never experience that fullness of love
As the peace of My Spirit descends like a dove;
You'd know that I give and I save.... (for a start),
But you'd not know the depth of the beat of My heart.
The glow of My comfort late into the night,
The faith that I give when you walk without sight,
The depth that's beyond getting just what you asked
Of an infinite God, who makes what you have LAST.
You'd never know, should your pain quickly flee,
What it means that 'My grace is sufficient for Thee.'
Yes, your dreams for your loved one overnight would come true,
But, Oh, the Loss! If I lost what I'm doing in you!
So, be silent, My Child, and in time you will see
That the greatest of gifts is to get to know Me.
And though oft' may My answers seem terribly late,
My most precious answer of all is still, 'WAIT.'

Jobs, School, A Family OH MY!!!!

YAY!! For quite sometime we have been living off of one income. First Shauns, then mine, then a few months with both, then we moved to Utah, then it was me again, and recently it has been Shaun working two jobs because I got so sick in June. Since I am feeling so much better I have been on the job hunt...which I hate! It is always the same thing- resume, interview, rejection! Then when I felt like I was never going to get a job I got a temp job offer, and then a partial job offer, then a preschool called me for an interview all with in two days! It was amazing!! I went to my temp job last Thursday and found out that it may be permanent because they really liked how well I was doing, so fingers crossed because I love my job so far! We feel so blessed, and very protected and watched over by the Lord. Shaun and I have always made things work but with one income it has been hard to save all we want sometimes, so if anything I am so excited to be able to SAVE!
On another HAPPY note, Shaun and I will BOTH be taking classes in the fall..hopefully! I know everyone has heard Shaun is going into the National Gaurd, and he still is but there are a few things that need to be done before he can enter, so instead of just waiting we decided it would be so much better if he started some classes. We are so very happy things are falling into place more and more everyday, and we hope to start a family soon!

More fun events in July!!

During the month of July we had a lot of family that came to visit. It was really nice to see our families, and catch up with all of them. July has been a crazy month in an of itself. We had 4th of July, then my family and the Logan trip, then my 21st BIRTHDAY!
In the last week of July Shaun's dad and his wife, Sue came up for a visit. We love being with them because they are so funny, and so laid back! While they were here we went to a Real Soccer game for Pioneer Day and watched fireworks, then the girls shopped. we visited Temple Square because Jason hasn't been in a long time and Sue has never been. We had a blast! Then we shopped some more. On Sunday we decided to take them up Provo Canyon to the waterfall where we had a picnic close to the foot of the waterfall. It was so nice to have them, same with Shaun's mom and the kids, and my family. We love seeing our parents and brothers and sisters when we can. Thanks for visiting family!!

A fun week in Logan

It has been awhile since I have updated our blog even with so much that has gone on. The second week of July my parents came to Utah from California to take my brothers and sister to EFY and to visit family. Because my brothers and sisters went to EFY at Utah State in Logan my family stayed in Logan for the week. Shaun was working a lot that week, and I had just gotten over the worst of mono so they invited me to come up with them. I had a blast to say the least! I got to spend a lot of time with my baby sister, Katelyn, and my parents, which I loved! Little blurry, but this is when Katelyn and I were getting bored in the car...when she wasn't playing on my phoneThis is Katelyn on my iPhone...This is how we entertained her while driving everywhere
I used to hate family outings, and going to different museums and tours, etc. Growing up has deifnitly had its advantages. All of my family right before Emilee, Joshua, Jacob went to EFY
I had no idea Logan had so many awesome things to offer. While there we went and saw how artisan bread is made and we got samples and then we bought the most amazing garlic bread in the world! We also went to the Bluebird Candy Co. where we got to go on a tour and see how they make their chocolates. It was awesome! Chocolate galore!! We also went and saw how honey was made and got to try an assortment of flavored honey, we went to the Pepperidge farm where they make goldfish and all the yummy cookies! We didnt get a tour but we got a lot of goldfish and cookies for an awesome cheap price!!Hard to see cause of the plastic but it is a huge cart of Goldfish..LOTS OF SMILES!
And of course we couldn't forget the legendary Aggie Creamery where we had delicious ice cream and got to see how cheese was made. So not only did we learn a lot, we also had great food!
On one of the days we went up to Preston, Idaho to visit my Great Grandma Neeley who is in a Nursing home..or something like it. On our way there we passed Whitney, Idaho, where President Ezra Taft Benson was born.
On the last day I was there they had their sidewalk sale which was also another cool thing to see. There were so many great things for cheap and it was fun to see all the cute shops. I never knew Logan could be so awesome, and now more than ever I am determined to live their someday. I can't wait to take Shaun to all the fabulous places I visited with my family.
