Mommy Bragging Moment

We have truly been blessed with the best baby! Addyson is so laid back and pretty patient when it come to most things. Shaun and I are always having to hand her off since we are both in school and he works. Addyson just goes with the flow and puts up with our hectic daily schedules. We really try to keep her on somewhat of a schedule so at least part of her day is predictable. Regardless she is such a happy baby!
She is getting so big and so much more talkative. Every time I look at her I just can't believe she belongs to us.

Playing with Toys

Addyson is so smart! She has started holding onto her toys and running her fingers across them to feel the texture. She loves to be read to and she just sits and stares at the pictures.

Moved In...Check

Our old place is officially empty! I am so happy to be in our new, spacious, amazing, thick walled home. The kitchen is completely unpacked and all beds are set up...and that is about it. Having a baby changes moving completely, which is ok, it just s.l.o.w.s down the process despite having help. The help has been amazing, especially since my mom os familiar to Addyson. Speaking of Addyson, she is doing much better! She still has a cough and stuffy and still won't drink formula (she is on Pedialyte).
So far that is all that is going on in our lives. Pictures of the home coming soon...in the meantime here are some of Addy and my little sister holding Addy to hold you over ;)

RSV...oh what fun!

This morning I got a call from the doctors letting me know that Addyson's test result came back positive for RSV. Yuck! I was hoping we wouldn't have to face this it illness but low and behold, here it is rearing its ugly head. Addyson already had a doctors appointment scheduled today so we went in to see how she is doing. So far so good. She is congested, doesn't really want to eat a whole lot and has a little crackling in her lung on the right side...pretty much what we expected. After the doctors we were told to go to the hospital to the RSV clinic where they sucked all the yucky stuff out. TMI but her snot is thin and white and the doc told us that is a good sign. Yay!
I wasn't able to protect her from this nasty bug like I had hoped, but from the very beginning when her stuffy nose started I was spraying saline up her nose and sucking her snot out on a regular basis, we have a humidifier going every night, we have been giving her fenugreek tea(a tea that expels mucus) and I have been rubbing an essential oil on her chest. The doctor told me doing all of that is most likely the reason she is not worse than she is. As a parent and feeling completely helpless while my baby is sick I kind of wanted to do a little dance. We are still not out of the woods but we are praying she will only get better from here. So far she hasn't had a fever and her oxygen levels are great...so here's to hoping! Luckily her Nana (my mom) and her Great Grandma will be here soon to give her extra love and attention while Shaun and I work on moving from one place to the next.

Addyson's 1st Valentine's Day

I love Valentine's Day!!! Since Shaun has to work today we exchanged presents early. For lunch we enjoyed some delicious BBQ takeout from Sonny Boys (a local BBQ place with some of the best BBQ I have ever tasted) and for dinner we had pizza (heart shaped of course) and sparkling apple cider.
We tried to keep things simple this year since we are moving. One new tradition we did start is our Valentines mailbox. Every Valentines each person will write a note to each member of the family and in the morning when everyone wakes up we check the mailbox and each read our letters. Of course this is not nearly as much fun as it will be when Addyson is older and we have more kids, but it is important to us that we start those traditions now because it will mean a lot to Addyson when she gets older and is able to read the cards we made for her while she was a baby.
Although this isn't one of the most extravagant Valentine's Day we have ever had, we are blessed to have each other and another little Valentine in our home.

Moving Madness

Once again we are moving! I wish I could say this is the last time for a long time, and hopefully it really is, but you never know. We are moving to a much bigger place with more room for storage-not like "now we can have clutter storage,"actual "we now have room for normal everyday things" storage. It has 3 bedrooms, a much needed 2nd bathroom and so much room for Addyson to play! We will now have a garage which is probably the best part! Shaun and I are both so excited that we will no longer be able to walk from one end of our home to the other in 2 seconds. The other perk, we will be getting away from our wonderfully psychotic neighbors who yell profanities all day- most of it being directed toward their 5 and 1 year old- how do I know? The walls are paper thin! (Perhaps I should leave a Book of Mormon before we leave for good.
Although we are beyond thrilled to get into a bigger better place our house right now is a disaster! Our hallway is now only a foot wide, lined with boxes stacked three high! Basically if I were still pregnant I would not fit in the hall. When we put the baby to bed we have to lift her up so we don't smash her or accidentally bang her head or get her feet caught. It's quite an ordeal. Friday can not get here fast enough!

$15 Worth Spending

So I am well aware that Addyson is only 3 months but when I saw this precious gem for $15 I had to jump all over it. This toy is one of the most amazing toys I have seen. It talks, it sings, it says the alphabet, numbers, and colors! $15 you say? DONE! This toy retails anywhere from $40-$50. Total steal! I showed Addyson the toy today and her eyes got big as she watched the buttons light up and heard it singing. She loves music and bright colors. She is easily fascinated by her toys, Baby Einstein and her books. I love that she is now responding to things around her and she is starting to learn! She is already such a smart baby! It is so amazing to watch.

Little sicky

Thanks to Walmart our family, well I guess I should just say Shaun and Addyson, were hit with the cold. I really didn't know how much I hated colds and sickness until Addyson got sick. There are very few things worse than having to watch your child in pain. When she cries I try hard not to cry right along with her. These are the times I wish she could tell me what hurts. It being RSV season brings a whole new element to this fun game. I am constantly watching her breathe and waking up at night to check on her just hoping, wishing, praying that she doesn't have RSV. They tested her for it at the doctors and let me tell you, that phone call with the test results can not come soon enough! Why? Because if she doesn't have RSV we might be in the clear but if she does have RSV things get a little less fun. I always thought I had this mom thing down pat... Everyone asks me how I like it, and of it's difficult and I always reply confidently "I love everything about it! I can't imagine anything better!" ... Well folks, although that is still MOSTLY true I do loathe one thing, a sick baby. Nothing like a sick baby to test all parenting skills and make you want to crawl in a ball hoping you can just wish away the sick. My least favorite words said by a doctor: "all you can do is just let it pass." Why thanks Doc. Next time my baby is screaming in pain I will just calmly say to her "I'm sorry Addy, all we can do is just let it pass." Poor baby,
All she wants is to be able to breathe comfortably through her nose and not have her daily meals consist of half formula and half mucus. Although I'm a raging mess I do know one thing from all my schooling..babies are resilient and they are definitely troopers. Despite Addyson's sick eyes and her cute roses cheeks she still manages a smile. Tonight she had a bath and she was all smiles. It's been a few days since we have seen her that happy! So for now, we will just pray for a fast recovery for her and Shaun.

3 Months Old!!!

Addyson is 3 months old today!! She has brought so much happiness and laughter into our home these past three months. People ask me how it is being a mom and my response is always "it's a dream come true." I can not imagine life getting any better! Shaun and I are so in love with our precious little girl. Each day is a blessing and another day spent with an angel.

She has discovered her hands which she now rarely lets go of
She is in size 0-3 month clothes now and size 1 diapers (finally!)
She bats at her toys now
She knows who mommy and daddy are now
She is a major mommy's girl
She is starting to understand the concept of Peek-a-boo

Our Superbowl Party

Superbowl isn't complete without our beautiful 50" TV
Our team, the 49ers, finally made it to the Superbowl and we were so excited! I always love a reason for throwing a party and this year our friends, The Haley's were great enough to host it in their home. There was so much yummy food! I made salsa, three different kinds of dips for veggies and chips, deviled eggs, chex mix and bacon wrapped chicken (sooo yummy!) and I got shrimp. That was just stuff I brought. Our friends also brought their own yummy things like ribs, spinach artichoke dip, seven layer dip, olives, so many different kinds of chips and soda and we even had rootbeer floats. It was a Success!!!....well of course despite the fact that our team lost. Sad face. Maybe next year. Like I said, I always love a reason to throw a party, and my latest obsession, dressing my very cute baby up.

More like keep you head out and win...so did not happen! All well

Thank you Pinterest for the football can idea!
I found this awesome printable/pattern and made these

Daddy's Girl

Her very cute outfit! I made the tutu, which I was super excited about! It was way easier to make then I anticipated.

This was after the game when it was time to go home. She was a trooper!
